Gabrielle Zane - Waxing Moon Studio

Gabrielle Zane is a writer and visual artist who holds an M.F.A. from Bennington College. Ms. Zane has studied advanced techniques of encaustic and photography via the Center for Photography at Woodstock, NY. She is a Teaching Artist for the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism and has been an artist-in-residence in schools throughout New England. She is a member of The Northeast Artists’ Open Studios, Hartford Artists’ Open studios, Norwich Arts Cooperative, Windham Arts Collaborative. Her work is in a number of private collections and also on display in businesses in the Windham area. Her studio, "Waxing Moon" is at 31 Moulton Court, Willimantic, CT. Artist Statement: Ms. Zane's work explores the realms of connection and how our striving for intimacy affects our relationships to ourselves, nature, and the world around us. Her photography and encaustic evokes a sense of how the "ordinary" things in life can bring us to larger truths of the struggle between fulfillment and longing, grasping and letting go.
