Nan Runde

Medium: Pencil, oil, and egg tempera

Description:  Meticulous drawings and dreamlike paintings

A BFA graduate of the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts, Nan Runde has exhibited award-winning work in numerous shows regionally, including solo exhibits in Storrs, as part of the Artists Live program, and at the Clare Gallery in Hartford. She is an instructor of drawing at the West Hartford Art League. Nan's work is on exhibit at The Hen's Nest Gallery in Washington Depot, CT, and Fisher Gallery in Avon, CT. It has been featured in the exhibit space of the Capitol Building office of the Connecticut Secretary of the State and has been displayed at the Five Points Gallery in Torrington, Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, the New Britain Museum of Art, Six Summit Gallery in Ivoryton, the CoSo Gallery in Boston, Silvermine Arts Center, and the Hartford Public Library ArtWalk Gallery, among others. Inspired by the natural world and at the same time exploring the inner world of dreams and imagination, Nan’s work encompasses abstract egg tempera paintings and atmospheric oil paintings, tonal landscape drawings and meticulous graphite drawings. With a visual vocabulary derived from the natural world, she strives to embody the way of nature in her own creative process, letting each image evolve from within.
