Description: Waterscapes and landscapes, still life paintings and portraits in oil
Artist Statement “Much of my work over the past decade has focused on still life paintings. My work shows a keen eye towards light and shadow and its effect on surfaces and textures. I strive to paint an apple that’s good enough to eat! Water has been my latest inspiration. My paintings capture the differences time of day and weather conditions can make on the same body of water, whether ocean, pond or puddle. I use the differing mood of each painting to create an emotional response in the viewer. My paintings are representational, yet still embrace the tactile quality of oil on canvas.” Bio Kimberley Scoble has a BFA degree in oil painting from the University of Connecticut. After taking time off to raise her three daughters, she experimented in pastel and watercolor before returning to her first love, oil painting. Her work shows a keen eye towards light and shadow and its effect on surfaces and textures. Her subject matter is ever expanding, and she presently paints still life paintings, portraits, and land/waterscapes. She regularly shows in a number of summer outdoor arts festivals in and around Connecticut. She has shown her work in many regional and national shows. She is an elected member of the West Hartford Art League and has won a number of oil painting awards. She also does commissioned portraiture and specializes in paintings of babies and small children. Her paintings hang in private collections in New England and beyond.
