Connecticut Cannabis Expo Artists

Artists in Real Time (ART) artists and crafters are invited to participate in the new
Connecticut Cannabis Expo at Mohegan Sun, Sky Convention Center
February 24 & 25, 2024 - Saturday 10am-6pm - Sunday 10am - 5pm

This is a special offer meant primarly for dedicated participants of ART events including
Open Studio Hartford, Art in the Park Manchester and others.

ART artists have been embraced as a special part of the Jenks' Productions Expos at the CT Convention Center, Mohegan Sun and the XL Center. Starting with the Home and Garden shows that features home improvement, renovations, spas, patios, garden supplies and many other fun vendors, now, artists have been invited to participate in the CONNECTICUT CANNABIS EXPO!

Mohegan Sun Resort & Casino is a popular destination with a built-in audience and is a potentially good sales opportunity For participants, it includes easy access for loading in and out, free parking, concessions, many dining options and more.

 
The Connecticut Cannabis Expo by XpoCanna Conventions And Exhibitions will be three events rolled into one.

FIRST visitors, cannabis enthusiasts, entrepreneurs and the general public can enjoy the cannabis trade show which will offer informational seminars surrounding advocacy, research, and awareness, the political landscape and more. Topics include production of marijuana, cannabis, hemp and CBD goods and how these all-natural products positively impact your lifestyle.

SECOND, cannabis businesses, entrepreneurs and investors can take part in panel discussions surrounding the political climate, legislation, business opportunities and foreseeable growth, career opportunities and more.

THIRD, the X Cup, New England’s most rigorously judged cannabis competition with 7 categories of entry. Whether you’re a licensed professional, closet grower or kitchen wizard all are welcome to compete in a blind evaluation of cannabis products.

LOCATION: Mohegan Sun, 1 Mohegan Sun Boulevard, Uncasville, CT 06382 - Sky Convention Center

SHOW HOURS: Saturday 10am - 6pm / Sunday 10am – 5pm 
 
MOVE IN:     Friday arrival TBD (most likely by noon) (No children under 14)
                      All set up times are scheduled with Cynthia

MOVE OUT: Sunday, 5 – 9pm (All materials must be removed Sunday night but not earlier than 5pm). The Fire Marshal officially closes the show. No dismantling or removal allowed before Sunday, 5pm unless otherwise instructed
 
BOOTH COST: ZERO cost through a sponsored partnership between ART and Jenks Productions. Other vendors are paying as much $1500 per booth.
 
MOVE-IN INSTRUCTIONS: (NO move-in allowed through main entrance)
  • Pull up to the Garage Door for drive-in entrance into the ballroom (TBD)
  • Park in the dock to cart in your items (or to come see me first)
  • Check in with guard and state you are an “artist with Cynthia” 
  • See me - you do not need to check in at the show desk
  • Bring your own cart. Do not ask to use venue’s or I will be charged
ALL PARKING IS FREE: Move vehicle promptly after unloading. Convenient parking lots TBD. NOTE: During show hours, there is no access in or out of the convention center.

BOOTHS: Sizes and Pipe and DrapeTBD. Generally. a 10x10’ space with 8’ back and 3’ high side drapes (you can request a double space from me) You are responsible for display, panels, racks etc. If you are not equipped, consider borrowing or ideas at Home Depot or online. There are many options, grids, lattice, etc. that you can zip tie so they stand on their own. Pop up 10x10 frames / canopies are allowed. I am available to suggest possibilities.

PROMOTIONS: Each booth includes the vendor's name as an ART participant. Additional signage is encouraged identifying your work or any special activites you're presenting. Bring giveaways such business cards, etc. Snacks and candy are acceptable. Have a signup log available for social meda.
Interact with your visitors! Attract more attention - and perhaps sales!

LIVE PAINTING and DEMONSTRATIONS is permitted and encouraged. 
 
RENTALS: You may bring your own tables, chairs and other display items.
Aisles are carpeted but not booths.
Tables and chairs are available for rent. Amount TBD (approx $20 per table / $5 per chairs) (deep discount!) (Pay Cynthia by cash, check, Venmo)
            ELECTRICITY: Battery operated lights and small generators are allowed. The hall is brightly lit. There is a charge for electrical TBD.
 
EXHIBITOR BADGES: Up to 3 badges for booth staff (see Cynthia for pre-printed badges).
FREE TICKETS for your friends, family and buyers are available. Coupon will be published
 
SALES & COMMISSION: You are responsible for sales transactions. Ask me about securing a CT Tax #.
I will work with you individually regarding a negotiable commission at a maximum of 15%.
            SALE of your original artwork, prints, greeting cards, custom commissions and related items are encouraged
 
SECURITY: There is live security. No one is allowed in after closing. You may want to bring coverings for your work and secure smaller work overnight.

INSURANCE: ART provides the overall insurance coverage and certificate for our participation. ART and other producers are not responsible for damage or loss of artwork and other belongings. Three-day insurance is available at actinsurance.com.

CONCESSIONS: Technically there is no eating at your booth. There is food onsite and seating.

OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATIONS: There are many local, reasonable options available. A show discount is offered less than 10 minutes away at the Holiday Inn Norwich for $99 / night. 860-889-5201. Shuttle runs regularly to Mohegan.
 
WISH I DIDN’T HAVE TO SAY IT: We are non-paying guests so thanks for being a representative of ART and displaying
total respect for employees of Jenks, Demers (red jackets), Mohegan Sun, etc. Put on a good show and turn to me with issues!
 
While speaking to attendees, you are part of ART, a non-profit organization, producing Open Studio Hartford,
Art in the Park and supporting local artists by offering opportunities to show their work to a variety of audiences.
