Description: An interface of nature and portraits inspired by my life in paintings and photographs
Yeny Flores is a Peruvian American artist, who graduated from the University of Connecticut with a BFA in Painting. She is currently developing professional practices in photography at the University of Hartford. In addition to painting and photography she is also an arts instructor, and cross-installation artist. Her subjects range from the figure to abstraction. Most of her work is inspired by her Peruvian culture. That is why you will find the use of saturation in color choices and the subject of her own identity. The installations are a long continuos study of the play and discovery with yarn, originally inspired by her research of the Nasca ruins in Peru. This study of yarn has evolved into an endless path of possibilities, the main two which are associational and animated languages of yarn. The most recent of the installations have taken on conceptional and interactive forms.
