Medium: Photography on Metal
Description: Metallic Fine Art Photographs: Strange | Beautiful | Abstract (Mostly)
My current method of artistic expression begins with taking a photograph of something ordinary – usually a close-up of an architectural element or flower. I then alter the photograph on the computer until it is often unrecognizable and usually very colorful, or, as I put it, “strange and beautiful.” I enjoy this process immensely. I follow my instincts and cannot retrace my steps or recreate a piece. The original photographs become a pattern, a quilt, a collection of colors, shapes, and lines, and textures, much like the quilts I played under as a child while my grandmother and mother stitched them. This gives me so much joy - joy I would like to share with you!
