Linda Joyce Ouellette Photographic Art
Medium: Photography and Digital Art
Description: Art prints created from original photography and digital art compositions
Linda’s foray into painting and digital art was borne out of a desperate need for distraction from severe Fibromyalgia/Myofascial Pain and the rigors of being an assistant caregiver to her dad, grandmother, and grand uncle for ten years. Her dad battled Alzheimer's Disease. Upon receiving a diagnosis of Stage 2B Breast Cancer in August of 2013, Linda turned to her life-long love of photography and combined it with digital art techniques as a method for coping with stress. She held her iPhone or iPad and created art while hooked up to chemo. “A Chemo Photo Essay” was her final project with the New York Institute of Photography and she completed her coursework during treatment. Linda graduated twelve days after her final chemo. In the Fall of 2017, she held her first solo art show in Hartford, Connecticut at St. Francis Hospital in the Center for Integrative Medicine. Her work can also be seen on Instagram: www.instagram.com/ljoyce_12, on Twitter @Ljoyce12, and in her online shop, www.fineartamerica.com/profiles/linda-ouellette. Digital art and photography continue to help Linda progress through the healing process. She’d like you to remember that within art lies distraction and within art lies peace.
