Artist Profile

Kimberley Scoble

Medium: Oil

Description:  Waterscapes and landscapes, still life paintings and portraits in oil

For me, painting is the best way I know to express myself and comes to me most easily. My subject matter may vary, but I’m constantly striving to make the ordinary more beautiful. Capturing light is a priority since it influences shapes, colors, and textures. My paintings are representational, but not photo-realistic, as I love the tactile quality of oil paint I paint in layers, which slows the process, but helps to create depth and complexity of color even while working with a limited palette. My work is done in my studio either from life (as in my many still life paintings), or from my own photo references.
