Kyle Gallaway - Ceramic Artist
Description: Functional and sculptural art made out of ceramics
Kyle Gallaway is a ceramic artist from Somers Connecticut. In 2012 he received a Bachelors of Fine Arts while studying ceramic art at the New Hampshire Institute of Art. Kyle’s ceramic work varies from functional pottery, to non-functional sculptures. He finds inspiration from unique ocean creatures, intricate flowers, minerals, and opalescent gas produced by stars. He attempts to capture the colors and shapes in these pieces of nature, for visual pleasure while also utilizing his art as a way of interpreting and communicating the world around him. Applying these influences to everyday functional objects and sculptures connects our lives to our natural setting. He asks, “Could a modern world be one that brings us closer to nature?” Currently Kyle is working in his studio in Somers, CT and at Alison Palmers Studio in Kent, CT.
