Normand L. Charlette

Description:  Landscape and seascape photography

Normand is a retired insurance executive and self-taught photographer. His favorite subject matter is New England landscapes and seascapes, especially scenes depicting lighthouses, barns and covered bridges. He prints his own photos, both color and black and white. Awards: second place in the landscapes category for “Covered Bridge Graffiti” in the Lyme Land Trust Photo Contest; “The Dunes of Matunuck” selected as the cover photo for the South County (RI) Health 2017 calendar competition; third place in the 2017 South County Rhode Island Tourism Council’s photo contest for the photograph “3 to 6”. As a member of the Manchester Art Association, his photos have been selected on four occasions in the Artist of the Month competition. Recent exhibits and shows include: Arts Center East (Vernon); The Spectrum Gallery (Centerbrook); the Essex Art Association Gallery; the National Arts Program (Capital Community College-Hartford); The Connecticut Audubon Society (Glastonbury); Imagine Main Street and Art in the Park (Manchester); Open Studio (Hartford); the Autumn Arts Festival (Madison); the Narragansett Art Festival (RI); The Essex Summer Art Festival; and Glastonbury’s On the Green art show. He was selected as Artist of the Month for July (2017) and exhibited 22 seascapes at the Aetna Headquarters Gallery in Hartford. His most recent project is entitled “Be Inspired”. Twenty-four of his photos have been reproduced as mixed media, watercolor and etchings by members of the Manchester Art Association. He resides in Manchester with his wife and two very spoiled cats.
