I have been dabbling with painting since 1977 when I began studying watercolor painting with Carl Paternostro at the Connecticut School of Fine Art in Wethersfield, CT. He taught us to paint in the style of Andrew Wyeth...a big favorite of mine. I stopped painting for several years while working in computer programming in the insurance industry. Later, I returned to painting to study with Bob Virelli, Carl's protege who carried on the classes after Carl's death. After retirement, I took classes with local artists Justine Coleman, Bob Noreika, and then began to learn how to work in oils with William Simpson. I became involved with the Avon Arts Association, and continued to support them as Webmaster and Newsletter Editor for many years. I am President of Avon Arts for the 2018-2021 term. I have taken as many Avon Arts Workshops as possible, which has broadened my skills and introduced me to working with pastels. I have been studying with Master Pastelist Christine Ivers and periodically take classes with artists at the Farmington Valley Arts Center and the West Hartford Art League. My work has been juried into a number of local shows in the Connecticut area including Granby, Canton, New Hartford, and West Hartford.
In recent years I have worked with my husband and favorite aphorist Robert Brault to create notecards and calendars using my images with his quotes. I will periodically update the photos on this website with samples of these images.
