Chet Kempczynski, a Hartford native who went to Paier School of Art, was one of the founding members of Open Studio Hartford when it began over 30 years ago. His artistic style — influenced by Josef Albers and his friend Sol LeWitt — couldn't be more different than his classical studio surroundings. Chet's gallery, where he greets visitors during non-pandemic times, is filled with his minimalist and simplified realistic works. His collection includes his "code" series, inspired by the color-coded post-Sept. 11 security alerts and his works inspired by horizon lines. Please give him a call for further information, prices and in-person gallery visits.
