Marie Burke is a self-taught contemporary abstract /artist based in West Hartford, CT. Her artistic journey began as a quest for solace amidst personal health challenges. Inspired by the works of Zhuang Hong-Yi and Justin Gaffrey. Marie's art explores contrasting themes, texture, color, and emotion. Her pieces reflect a journey of self-discovery and healing, often incorporating heavy body acrylics to create vibrant abstracts.
As a chronically ill artist, Marie's creative process is deeply intertwined with her health experiences. Her work serves as both a therapeutic outlet and a means of artistic expression, with each piece reflecting her resilience and evolving artistic vision. Marie's art is not confined to a specific style, as she continually seeks growth and new techniques. While she doesn't currently accept commissions, Marie wants to share her artistic journey and how she explores the transformative power of art, turning personal challenges into beautiful, emotive creations.
