STATEMENT: Through hand-cut paper collages, my art explores the beauty of imperfection and the fragility of life. I use playful yet poignant imagery to evoke emotions. Themes reflected in my art include faith, aging, identity, and healing. Love, of oneself or others, is typically my underlying message. BIO : I was born in Orleans, France (the city of Joan Of Arc) but have lived in Connecticut all of my life. As a child I always loved to create art, but I consider myself a self-taught artist and perpetual student. By day, I work for a public school district, but am also an organic gardener, herbalist, certified yoga instructor, and volunteer at a farm animal sanctuary. I was the co-producer of a short dance documentary film ONE IN FOUR which has won 16 national and international awards. Although I love all genres of art, my focus is hand-cut paper collages and digital art. My hope is that my art will stir the viewer’s emotions, allow memories to emerge, and invoke a ripple effect of love and compassion with ourselves and towards others.
