Brighton (they/them) is a winter 2022 graduate of Marymount Manhattan College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts with concentrations in Directing and in Theatre & New Media. Additionally, they went to high school in Hartford at the CREC Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts. They are an award-winning choreographer, alternately producing, stage managing, writing, and performing (and more) in and around the NYC/New England areas.
They’ve also been a visual artist since they were incredibly young. Their favorite type of art to make is usually portraiture, but they like to branch out into landscape and multimedia artwork when the inspiration strikes. Brighton takes inspiration from their intense interests in theatre, music, and the joy of the queer experience. They like to make “pretty” things whenever they can-- most of their work skews toward the outlandishly colorful, joyful, serene, and occasionally humorous.
They are also a Resident Artist and founding member of Showpeople Theatre Collective— which has had multiple original musical theatre works take stages around CT and NYC, including 54 Below, The Green Room 42, and the New York Theater Festival. They are typically the company’s main graphic artist, and have created all the album art you can see across streaming platforms for their various cast recordings of original musicals.
