Jenika Carrillo is a visual artist working primarily in acrylic painting and surrealist-inspired imagery. Her work weaves together symbolism and storytelling, using natural elements such as trees, roses, and monarch butterflies to explore resilience, identity, and the balance between logic and emotion. My work explores the tension and harmony between the heart and the mind, as well as the interplay between resilience and vulnerability, logic and intuition. Through surrealist imagery and symbolic elements such as trees, butterflies, and vibrant natural forms, I give shape to the inner conflicts and transformations that define human experience. I am drawn to surrealism because it allows me to move beyond the literal and into the emotional, creating visual metaphors for strength, growth, and identity. My practice is deeply personal, but it also speaks to broader themes of cultural resilience, healing, and the pursuit of wholeness.
