I am a long time resident of Hartford and am now an emerging artist, inspired by the world around me and other artists. In addition to painting, I love growing vegetables, herbs, fruit and flowers, including many native plants, as well as bike riding, walking and doing yoga.

The Wildness of Flowers 8x11" $65

Nature, particularly the varied shapes, colors and textures of trees and flowers, provide imagery that inspires my paintings. Initially, I looked at calendar photographs of nature and used these to help me create paintings that closely resembled the photographs, Recently, I have begun to rely on mental images that may be totally abstract, or loosely based on nature, to create paintings that express emotions, both known and unknown, which hopefully also cause the viewer to have an emotional reaction. I have always loved art, and take classes from time to time to challenge myself to try new ways of painting and exploring color. as I continue my creative journey.
