Neti Guzman is a CT-based abstract artist specializing in acrylic and mixed media painting, primarily on paper. Her work is fundamentally driven by feelings, movement, and energy. Guzman’s inspiration comes from a deep curiosity and the desire to distill the beauty of the everyday—from fleeting moments of human connection to the subtle color palettes of her surroundings.

Guzman’s creative approach is deeply instinctual and spontaneous. She embraces the uncertainty of the process, relying on pure instinct to guide each piece. This results in paintings built with many visible layers, which she refers to as ‘lives’—a tangible record of time and feeling. Her work is heavily influenced by personal experiences, relationships, and the ups and downs of a full life. This influence pours into the energy, color, and depth of each abstract piece. Daily journaling serves as a pre-dawn ritual and a testing ground where raw feelings are translated into immediate color and form.

Guzman’s hope is that her art sparks a feeling in the viewer and joins the collection of memories they carry with them, offering a moment of connection to the raw energy she pours onto the surface.

She discovered her love for painting five years ago through a class at the West Hartford Art League. What began as a creative outlet to balance family life and a demanding corporate career has grown into much more. Her work has been shown in several juried and non-juried shows in the greater Hartford area.  She currently shares a studio with artist Lari Schwartz in the Real Art Ways building (Rest A While Studio 222).
