Hartford Artisans Weaving Center's core program and central focus is the artisan therapeutic weaving program. This program encourages sight-limited, blind, and/or senior individuals to develop the cognitive and motor skills involved in handweaving original, beautiful items, along with important personal and social benefits. To support this program and our mission of teaching and promoting handweaving to all, the Center offers weaving classes, an annual 3-day workshop, a youth summer workshop, and private instruction to members of the general public. We also exhibit and sell the artisan-produced goods at locations throughout the area. To further support the program, we sell our handwoven items, fiber, weaving equipment and supplies.
