Low Tide,

Diane Cadrain retired from a career of legal research and writing in 2015 and turned her energies to art.  Having come of age during the era when sewing was taught to girls in the public schools, Diane started out as an art quilter, taking inspiration from the natural world, which offers constantly-refreshed images of arresting loveliness.  Over the years, Diane's work has expanded to include felting, painting, knitting, embroidery, beading, and hand weaving.  Her work now hangs in several private collections, and has been displayed nationally and internationally.  She is the co-president of Connecticut Women Artists and a member of the Studio Art Quilt Associates as well as an elected member of both the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts and the West Hartford Art League. Diane and her husband, Joseph Rubin, live in West Hartford and are the parents of three grown daughters.
