Dana LaMontagne specializes in dark abstract expressionism.
She creates heavily textured surfaces with layers of paint and has recently drawn influence from graffiti.

Dana LaMontagne is an abstract expressionist based in Connecticut. She began painting in 2009 while employed as an interior painter for the Facilities Department at the UConn Law School in Hartford. There, she used the campus paint shop as a studio and began experimenting with mixed media and abstract expressionism, using old materials that would have otherwise been discarded.

Dana's primary medium is acrylic and spray paint on canvas.  She creates texture and dimension by manipulating the paint with a heat gun and paper towels.  Some of her most recent aesthetic influences include surrealism and graffiti.
