I am a Quality Control Engineer working in the Aerospace Industry. In order to relieve stress from the work place I have turned back to my artistic abilities. I have always been able to draw. Wood carving seemed a natural extension of that ability. I started carving back in 2000 to make some Christmas presents, and have been at it ever since. Over the past few years my work has also expanded into wood turning, and the combination of turning and carving. The challenge in working with wood is to see the beauty in the wood that hides within the rough cut board. I have done a lot of Celtic Knot work carving. The most ambitious project was a fully covered Cradle for my sister. I have produced numerous relief carvings, fan carvings for furniture, linen fold work, and a pineapple for an open scrolled pediment. Turned Items that I have produced include Bowls plates and platters up to 18" in diameter. Conducting batons Celtic music spoons, Salt and pepper grinders Christmas tree ornaments.
